About

wholly, adv. = “to the full or entire extent”

bound, v. = “to make secure by tying; to wrap around with something so as to enclose or cover”

Becoming a follower of Jesus means being hidden with Christ in God (Col. 3:1-4). Therefore, as believers, we are completely, irrevocably, comprehensively bound to Him–forever!

wholly bound = “to be secure to the fullest extent; to be entirely enclosed”

This is the foundational truth behind Wholly Bound, a blog about the intersection of faith and life. Being raised with Christ to walk in newness of life has implications for how we live and what we believe–and that’s what I hope to explore here!

The purpose of Wholly Bound is to create a space where we can seek out, discuss, and apply truth to life. And the goal is to show one another grace and learn to love others well through the process. That’s the heartbeat of this blog–to see people engaging with the Gospel and engaging with each other in fruitful, Christ-honoring conversation.

You’re going to see a lot of different content here at Wholly Bound –personal stories, interviews with experts, research, book reviews, devotionals, and conversations with peers. If the biblical worldview speaks to an issue, then you’ll see it addressed here. The Gospel has implications for every facet of life and I want to press into every tension and question.

I don’t have all the answers. And I will never be able to satisfy every burning question that we as Christians struggle with. But I want to think deeply and critically about the intersection of faith and life–and I invite you to join me for the journey! Let’s discover what it looks like to live wholly bound.

“If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is your life appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.”
